I was intrigued with your email regarding Autism and Music. Martha had an autistic student. I'm not sure if he ever spoke to her, but he was dedicated to his violin. I think I recall him responding to her vocally. I accompanied her students in recital, so I got to know them and their parents. He loved Martha and was profoundly saddened by her death. We dedicated a tree to her memory in the local Arboreteum. He insisted that his mother take him to the tree regularly. He also wanted to pick out a tree for himself when he died. What a sweetheart he was and what a lovely mother he had.That's my story for now.
